Position Overview

This role is part of the Medical Device and Operating Technology (MD&OT) program which aims to uplift the cybersecurity of Medical Devices & Operational Technology (MD&OT) through a lifecycle approach from pre-market initiatives and post-market diligence during procurement to securing clinical use through policies and governance and final decommissioning.

Working with stakeholders across ministries, agencies and healthcare entities, this role focuses on managing the technology and cyber risk management initiatives in the pre-market space and to support the development of procurement, risk assessment and mitigation guidelines for healthcare institutions.

As part of Sector Governance, the individual with work closely with sector governance teams to uplift cybersecurity posture, identify gaps and implement initiatives.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing cybersecurity guidelines and standards for safe deployment, asset management and discovery, monitoring, incident reporting and decommissioning of medical devices.
  • Assist in engaging internal and external stakeholders (including manufacturers and regulators) to identify and recommend appropriate controls and solutions commensurate with state of clinical operations and emerging risks.
  • Provide independent security advisory and recommendations in the design of controls to address regulatory and organizational requirements on cybersecurity.
  • Conduct assessment and testing of medical devices to ensure ongoing adherence with prevailing cybersecurity policies, processes and standards, and to determine the operating effectiveness of controls implemented. Assess also against emerging threats and risks.
  • Provide recommendations to mitigate risk and improve the overall IT security posture of the organisation. Facilitate stakeholders to make risk-informed decisions where there are issues, including explanation on the technical details.
  • Provide secretariat support to selected cybersecurity governance forums, facilitating meetings, workgroup discussion, documentation and circulation of materials

Requirements

  • Business Analyst or IT Professional or with 2 to 5 years of experience in Healthcare Informatics or Medical devices or IT Security, Policy, Risk and Compliance or Project Management experience.
    • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, Bio-Medical Engineering, Business Management or equivalent.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and yet a good team player adept at forging collaboration and connecting different stakeholders.
  • Good organizational and follow-up skills, resourceful and able to find innovative ways to resolve problems.
  • Ability to multi-task, be comfortable with accepting and responding to changes amidst pressing deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, business analytical and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
