Position Overview

The System Engineer undertakes complex projects related to system provisioning, installations, configurations as well as monitoring and maintenance of systems. He/She applies highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in systems administration and works toward continuous optimisation of system performance. He/She implements system improvements and instructs other IT staff in the resolution of most complex issues. He/She is required to be on standby with on-call availability including nights, weekends and holidays to resolve systems related incidents. He/She works in a team setting and is proficient in Infrastructure systems and Network related tools and techniques required by the organisation. He/She also oversees all aspects of assigned project throughout project lifecycles to ensure completion within the defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints.

The System Engineer is able to communicate effectively and displays high service level standards. He/She is confident and decisive in leading projects, overseeing the completion and integration of inter-dependent projects and parts.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Preparation work of site engagement of new/existing healthcare institutions
  • Perform site readiness and assessment of new/existing healthcare institutions
  • Support in the testing and installation of new applications and enhancement patches.
  • Involvement in the system integration testing phase prior to implementation.
  • Plan and coordinate end-user training for any system implementations or enhancements.
  • Liaise closely with business users and build good rapport.
  • Liaise closely with vendors in project implementation, application testing, supporting application patches and upgrades in accordance with project methodologies and policies.
  • Managing/Conducting Technique Dress Rehearsal (TDR)
  • Support the team in defining project requirements, tracking and documentation.
  • Provide 24/7 primary application maintenance standby support.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members.
  • Track project deliverables and ensure projects are completed within schedules and quality standards.
  • Conduct Full Dress Rehearsal (FDR), Final Verification (FV) & provide Go-live Support
  • Preparation of presentation slides (weekly Team/Project team meeting update)
  • Present reports and project updates to stakeholders on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 5-6 years of experience in the relevant field
  • EUC background experience before
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Able to manage vendor and engage the different stakeholders related to different requests
  • Good Technical knowledge to be able give advice to system design eg . on integration of infra components
  • Experience handling Infra program/ project management
  • Understanding of security compliance
  • Excellent vendor and stakeholder management
