Business Analyst - Data Concierge (ITDG)

Position Overview

The Data Concierge team in Data Management Division serves as the key point of contact for users of our data platform. We work with the business stakeholders (e.g. Ministry, users) to understand in-depth the demands/needs of the stakeholders and how they can be better addressed

Role & Responsibilities

Guiding data analytics users

• Serve as the key point of contact for users of our data platform
• You will work closely with them to understand, advise and guide them on their data requests, in terms of the relevant datasets and the necessary approvals required

Leading and Improving Accessibility of Data for Analytics

• Understand and review the data available for analytics i.e. the data sources, the codes and standards applied to each data element (clinical, research or administrative data)
• Work closely with the Data Management unit to investigate, document and remediate data quality issues (i.e. broken ETL (extract, transform and load) processes, data inconsistency between source systems or the lack of data dictionary standards)
• Managing and maintaining our data repository's metadata catalogue whilst curating insights derived from our datasets
• In-house subject matter expert (SME) for 1-2 datasets

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or health & biological sciences or equivalent
• At least 6 years of working experience in the information and software industry or experience in the R&D and/or Healthcare sector
• Comfortable with large volume of data and some knowledge of data, coding languages (R, Python, SQL)
• Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
• Resourceful, proactive, flexible and has an excellent working attitude
• Good oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate ideas succinctly
• Able to interact and work well with people at all levels
• Knowledge of business and IT in healthcare industry is an added advantage
