Position Overview
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure. This role includes performing cloud system monitoring and maintenance, troubleshooting and resolving cloud-related issues, and documenting cloud processes and procedures. The Cloud Engineer collaborates with team members to ensure the security and compliance of cloud solutions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement Jira ITSM forms
- Develop and maintain custom workflows, business rules and groovy scripts
- Implement ITIL-aligned processes for incident, problem, change, request and CMDB
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate functional requirements into effective technical designs
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbook for infrastructure automation
- Build REST API integrations with internal systems to enable seamless end-to-end automation
- Support platform upgrades, patch management, and ensure optimal performance and availability
- Administer and maintain RHEL servers subscribed by the team
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning for subscribed servers
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for routine tasks
- Install, configure, and administer various middleware platforms such as Pacemaker, Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat, Nginx, Jira, etc
- Assist application team in troubleshooting issues and perform root cause analysis related to middleware application performance
- Maintain system and middleware security, including patching, hardening and vulnerability remediation
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers
Requirements
- Degree in computer science or related IT discipline, or equivalent experience
- Min 5-8 years of experience in the relevant field
- Experience with Jira ITSM as administrator
- Familiar with Red Hat (RHEL administration)
- Able to develop Ansible playbook (or python experience)
- ITIL v3/v4 certification or equivalent experience in IT service management
- Openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous learning and skill development
- Strong knowledge and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration
- Hands-on experience with relevant middleware technologies
- Familiarity with Ansible and programming/scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective user engagement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges
- Experience in cross-functional teams or projects is advantageous
