Data Engineer - ETL (Engineering & Ops)

Position Overview

The Data Engineer will be the primary support for Informatica of the BRAIN, EDW and eHintS Systems and will be responsible for the day-to-day support and operations of all Informatica issues and will occasionally manage SR/CR if needed. This role is a two-year direct contract with Synapxe

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide on-going support (24x7) to various applications running in the data warehouse
• Oversee testing of data acquisition processes and their implementation into production
• Act as consultant in the review of extraction, loading and transformation (ETL) rules
• Perform production job support and track incidents to closure especially on the batch job recovery and failures
• Evaluate potential solutions relating to business intelligence and data warehouse and make recommendations to resolve business problems
• Assist in establishing a set of consistent BI skills, standards, and best practice
• Support the team in defining, tracking and documentation of the technical deliverables expected

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in developing, implementing and maintaining data warehouse
• Strong experience in using different ETL tools like Informatica PowerCenter, SAP BODS, SSIS, IDMC with ability to diagnose and troubleshoot ETL errors
• Strong SQL skills using Oracle, Databricks, Teradata and SQL server databases
• Thorough understanding of data warehouse concepts, dimensional design, and ETL optimization
• Experience in data modelling and design
• Ability to manage users, vendors and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently, as well as in a team
• Exposure to hospital information / clinical systems is an added advantage
