Position Overview

This role is a lead role in Synapxe Innovation Capabilities Enablement (ICE) team focusing on leading the Sector Alliance (SA) demand management for innovation projects and to drive our Industry Partnership (IP) initiatives. Your main role is provide the leadership to the Sector Alliance and Industry Partnership teams to solicit, identify and analyse potential innovation projects for implementation and to develop new partnership collaborations, support key operational functions, and gain valuable experience in planning and executing impactful industry events. As the lead to both Sector Alliance and Industry Partnership, your role is to drive and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders to spearhead the implementation of the innovation projects under the Synapxe Innovation Program.

 

Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
For SA scope, you are expected to provide leadership to your team in engagement of the respective entities’ management and decision makers to generate demand and build up a pipeline and conversion of capabilities directly contributing to Synapxe Corporate KPIs. This role oversights the SA team that manages the demand management. He/She is expected to provide oversights in all aspects of the assigned project throughout its lifecycles to ensure its expected outcomes.


For IP scope, you are expected to spearhead the call-for-innovation process and support the IP team in ensuring seamless coordination across internal teams, efficient proposal consolidation, and effective preparation for industry partners pitch sessions. This role also provider oversights to industry partnership operations and support collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry partners to strategically plan and execute impactful partner events and engagement activities.


The candidate is expected to identify and evaluate innovation projects from the various forums/sources with the main aim and objective of converting these into structured collaborations between the users and the industry solution providers and manage the outcomes of the projects through the SA and IP teams. He/she is expected to guide the teams to recommend and try innovative ways and approaches to achieve these outcomes. He/she is to promote collaboration culture within ICE teams and other Synapxe teams to work harmoniously, hand-in-hand to contribute to Synapxe Corporate KPIs on Innovation. 


He/she is confident and decisive in providing the leadership to both the SA and IP teams and support the teams in inter-dependent projects and parts. He/she has excellent communication skills, capable of effectively influencing and engaging various internal and external stakeholders.


Key roles include:

  • To coach and mentor the SA team in structured analysis and evaluate users’ need by understanding their operational workflows and objectives, systems and applications in use and their limitations, and importantly their issues and problem statements that they wish to resolve through new and innovative means and solutions.
  • To coach and mentor the IP team in conducting preliminary landscape research and industry tech scouting in the identification of the appropriate pathways and options available in recommendation to the user based with a clear understanding of their needs and the solutions and services available to them. Challenging conventional thinking where needed to value-add and push users and peers to think beyond today’s boundaries.
  • To makes critical decisions regarding organisational priorities, financial priorities and resource management that directly contribute to organisation’s short-term (1-3 years) strategic goals.
  • Independent engagement with senior decision makers and building of strong relationships to become trusted partners of choice. Supporting the teams, department, and organisation to achieve the same trust with the users and industry partners.
  • Provide oversights on the management of pipeline, prioritising opportunities including the recommendation and presentation of collaboration opportunities for endorsement.
  • Lead in strategic planning of department matters, facilitate inputs and suggestions to chart or re-chart paths and target outcomes, and the execution of operational matters to ensure we achieve those outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of proven experience and track record in partnership engagement, strategic planning, or innovation-focused roles and possesses advanced professional domain knowledge and strategic thinking ability within one professional domain. 
  • As this role deals with innovation, candidate with technology background or deep knowledge in the healthcare industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels, with a strong team leadership and player mindset. An excellent stakeholder management skills and able to negotiates with internal senior leadership and external stakeholders with divergent interests through convincing narratives, to achieve compromise and commitment to shared goals.
  • Leads efforts to solve strategic business problems or highly complex problems by innovative / greenfield solutions through experience, critical and analytical, and industry best practices within broadly-defined boundaries (e.g. high-level strategies).
  • Strong communication involved in conveying business challenges into clear documentation on requirements through asking thoughtful questions and writing, presentation to the stakeholders.
  • Responsible, accountable, self-motivated and driven to achieve personal, department, and organisation goals and outcomes through team work and excellent leadership.
  • Integrity to do the right things in the right way without compromising core values and trust for the betterment of public healthcare in Singapore.
