Finance Manager - Operations

Position Overview

This role is part of the finance operations team and is responsible for overseeing and managing specific financial activities and processes to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations. To excel in this role, you will need a strong background in finance or accounting, excellent analytical skills, conflict resolution abilities, and a deep understanding of financial operations and best practices. Effective communication skills to liaise with various departments and stakeholders are critical.

Role & Responsibilities

Statutory Reporting, Treasury / Asset Management, Closing Activities

  • Prepare, review, and distribute financial reports, statements, and analyses to support decision-making by senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance to tax regulations and GST compliance, asset management policies
  • Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure sufficient liquidity for daily operations.
  • Streamline cost centre management; Data management


Governance, Compliance, and Internal Controls:

  • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations. 
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations, prevent fraud, and safeguard company assets.
  • Coordinating with auditors during financial and internal audits and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Enhance and expand Corporate Operating Policy


Risk Management and Reserve Management:

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through analysis, planning, and appropriate strategies.
  • Create and strengthen the reserve control framework


Financial process, Process Improvement and documentation:

  • Design, implement, and manage effective financial processes and workflows to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. Implement best practices and automation where applicable.
  • Process Documentation, to develop and maintain documentation of financial processes, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and accountability.
  • Standardise and digitalise operations (e.g. staff claims)
  • Streamline and standardize data management
  • Analyse financial data to provide insights into financial performance


Stakeholder Relations:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and financial institutions to support the company's financial objectives.
  • Manage 1FSS (Shared services); Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments and invoices.

Requirements

  • Good degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualification, with minimum 8 years of relevant working experience preferably in an IT organisation and / or with audit experience in a Big 4 firm
  • Experience in SAP would be a plus
  • Problem-solving skills – with strong problem-solving skills, analyses data and search for inconsistencies and devise solutions to errors
  • Communication skills – great verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with peers and stakeholders of all levels throughout the company
  • Understand the importance of data and comes with analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports
  • Strong sense of curiosity to gain knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process, and information flow
  • Technically competent and operationally hands on
  • Resourceful, highly motivated, and adaptable to rapid changes
