Position Overview

The Future Systems & Innovation Division oversees the ministry’s innovation strategy, which aims to catalyse and drive the translation of good, cost effective health innovations and technologies into impactful implementations across the Singapore healthcare ecosystem. Part of this involves reviewing the potential of specific health technologies in the healthcare sector and supporting the broader masterplanning effort across MOH for healthtech. To support this strategy, FSID administers the MOH Health Innovation Fund, and works closely with a wide network of stakeholders and partners. The ability to have a strategic planning and resource management perspective is a necessary requirement for all FSID officers

Role & Responsibilities

You will work within a multi-disciplinary unit to identify, prioritise, and plan the translation of good, cost-effective health innovations into national level impact in support of MOH priorities. You will have the opportunity to work on the following: 

  • Technology Masterplanning: Work with MOH divisions and stakeholders to review and articulate the envisioned value of specific healthtech (e.g. robotics and automation, wearables) for the public healthcare system; map the overall technology roadmap (including process and policy changes where needed) to inform our innovation strategy in to guide the innovation and potential scaling/ mainstreaming strategy in public healthcare, including the development of the requisite capabilities in these areas and the central facilitation of promising innovation projects/trials to be implemented in the local context with an objective to drive such innovations towards larger scale deployment across the public healthcare system to deliver the best health outcomes at sustainable costs, in accordance to the larger strategic plan. 
  • Administration and management of the MOH Health Innovation Fund.
  • Working with healthcare clusters and other partners: Facilitate collaborative relationships between various parties in healthcare (MOH and its statutory boards, public/ private healthcare institutions, companies), research organisations, and the productisation community, to implement the technology plan.

Requirements

  • Education in Science/Engineering/Technology/Healthcare related fields or a good appreciation of technologies and its impact on healthcare/ care delivery operations while keeping in mind the strategic objectives
  • Experience in strategic resource management
  • Experience in strategic or corporate planning, in healthcare and/or digital solutions/architecture is advantageous
  • Good appreciation of technologies, its impact on operations while keeping in mind the strategic objectives
  • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills, as well as analytical and research skills
  • Highly driven and goal-oriented professional who can operate under tight deadlines
