Position Overview

In the face of rising global health crises such as COVID-19, a rapidly aging population and increasing healthcare consumption and costs, we have to be able to leverage on healthcare data to drive decisions and improvements to care quality, delivery, and value.

You will be part of a team that develops frameworks to manage the security and protection of data, overseeing the overall maintenance of data protection and risk mitigation of data. You will also assist in the formulation and implementation of policies that guide the adoption and compliance of terminology data standards. Within the constantly evolving regulatory and policy space of technology, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires managing multiple priorities and stakeholders with complex needs at the same time.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Review and refine on-going programs and efforts to empower stakeholders and increase ownership of data security and data protection risks and compliance.
  • Assisting with data request evaluations and processes, including personal data protection impact assessments, data security risk assessments
  • Resolving ad-hoc stakeholder queries on data governance issues
  • Consolidate, track and report progress of data security and protection programmes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to formulate approaches to protect data and to update senior management on data protection and risk mitigation.
  • Formulate policies to guide the adoption, implementation and use of terminology and data standards in both the private and public healthcare sectors.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders in the development, analysis and use of terminology data standards.
  • Formulate necessary frameworks for measuring terminology data standards compliance of private and public healthcare institutions.

Requirements

What we are looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in data and technology, preferably in the healthcare and/or public sector.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics or related field.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies and policies.
  • Meticulous, able to work with granular data.
  • Good understanding of the use of data, and data interoperability in heterogeneous healthcare IT environments.
  • Excellent command of the English language with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and balance conflicting demands, while managing their expectations
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

What would be advantageous for you to have

 

  • A collaborative and curious mind-set to bring fresh perspectives to the team.
  • Proactive attitude and appreciation for uncertainties and open-ended problems.
  • Good understanding of data types, data hierarchies and relations of data elements.
  • Formal health informatics training or experience working with standardised clinical vocabularies such as SNOMED CT and ICD.
