Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive and experienced individual to take on the role of Strategic Sourcing/ Supplier Relationship Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role for overseeing and managing third party risk process, cultivate and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring a robust and collaborative network and stay abreast of market trends and technological advancement to inform strategic planning and decision-making ensuring a resilient and sustainable supply chain.
Role & Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
- Support the development, implementation and execution of Strategic Sourcing strategies that align with the business needs.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring a robust and collaborative network.
- Conducting key suppliers’ business review at C suite level.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supplier management strategies with overall business objectives.
- Perform market intelligence and analysis including supplier landscape, capabilities, and technology roadmaps to develop Category Strategies with Category Sourcing Managers
- Provide valuable market insights and stay abreast of market trends and technological advancement to inform strategic planning and decision-making ensuring a resilient and sustainable supply chain.
- Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting to improve value such as spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, and supplier management.
Supplier Management
- Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors.
- Evaluating current vendor management programs and identifying ways to improve them.
- Development and execution of key vendor risk management activities.
- Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors.
- Evaluating current vendor management programs and identifying ways to improve them.
- Implementation of new vendor onboarding, renewal, and off boarding processes, and ensure all required risk management processes are performed as per governance standards.
- Coordinate and ensure appropriate compliance activities are always performed.
- Carry out regular risk reviews on all vendors to ensure suitability of on-going business engagements.
- Maintain a profile of all vendors, monitoring timelines for reviews, ensuring all relevant information is up to update.
- Provide advice and guidance to business partners and teams as appropriate regarding Vendor Management best-practice.
- Partnering with internal functions to interact with third parties on escalations of non-performance and contractual issues to drive resolution when appropriate.
- Facilitating remediation of issues or gaps identified as part of ongoing monitoring.
Requirements
- Degree holder or its equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
- At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management or third-party risk management
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders to deliver results.
- Solid analytical skills demonstrated in performing bid analysis, cost analysis, fair-value analysis, and scenario modelling.
- Excellent understanding of 3rd party risk management and corporate compliance.
- Excellent verbal and social skills, adept at establishing and nurturing strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
- Excellent at delivering clear and concise communications, whether verbally, in writing, or through presentations, especially when discussing updates and challenges.
- Able to interface with multiple levels of management.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
- Relevant experience in healthcare industry is an added advantage.
