Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful delivery of one large project or multiple small projects within a business domain or cross functional projects. The Potential Candidate will:
- Ensure the project is well planned, on-track, resolves issues across different functions immediately and mitigates any potential risks early to avoid project failure
- Leads cross functional teams, works in collaboration and co-ordinates with business users, internal and external teams, and vendors to ensure project is succesfully completed within budget & scope, on time and with quality
- Provides regular progress update to key stakeholders and management, and escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner
- Participates in annual workplanning and manage the estimation of budget for new demands
- Possess strong project management and people management skills. Is confident to lead the large project or multiple projects, and drives cross functional teams in a structured and methodological manner to meet the business objectives
- Likes to pursue excellence and new knowledge, and actively impact new knowledge and skills to others. Has good communication skills, is a competent negotiator, demonstrates resiliency, good at problem solving and able to engage & influence effectively both the internal and external stakeholders
- Is adaptable to change in an agile and volatile environment while taking ownership and deliver works with integrity
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive project to meet schedule, budget, manpower and technical quality targets
- Develop integrated project plan including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
- Ensure accurate allocation of resources throughout the project, providing leadership to cross-functional teams
- Work with stakeholders to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, and deliverables
- Conduct regular project reviews to recommend schedule, cost, or resource adjustments
- Provides regular progress update to key stakeholders and management, communicate risks, escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outcomes
- Conduct project evaluations and assess outcomes
- Monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Track project performance using appropriate techniques and metrics
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards
- Analyse and validate design with technical teams to ensure the solution is implementable
- Conduct impact assessments to understand the effect of transitions (i.e., due to new infrastructure technologies) on various parts of the organization
- Conduct post-project/transition evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement
- Assess new infrastructure technologies (i.e., participate in proof of concept) to assist in defining technology roadmap, framework, and policies to meet strategic business initiatives
- Review data centre/ private cloud infrastructure, platform, and technology roadmap
- Document project learnings and best practices
- Ensure all project documentation is completed accurately, timely and stored appropriately
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent discipline
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in project management
- Experience in managing complex IT infrastructure projects and comes from technical background
- Able to select approriate tools and platforms, solution design and infrastructure planning
- Experience in Day 0 to Day 1 scopes that covers conceptualising, coming up with strategy and work plan and determine the project scopes and workplan
- Comfortable to work with unclear specifications and work around to propose/ plan out the project outline, strategy and schedule
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is preferred
- Strong technical knowledge on at least 2 of the following domains: System (i.e., VMware, Nutanix), Storage (i.e., Hitachi, Pure), Network (i.e., Cisco), Security (i.e., Check Point, Palo Alto), Automation (e.g., Ansible), Backup (i.e., Symantec NetBackup). Certifications in the above areas would be preferred

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in project management techniques
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Able to prioritise assignments whilst working on multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to deliver high-quality work in a timely and in a right-first time manner
- Able to commit for 2 years contract
