Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful delivery of one large project or multiple small projects within a business domain or cross functional projects. He/She  ensures the project is well planned, on-track, resolves issues across different functions immediately and mitigates any potential risks early to avoid project failure. He/She leads cross functional teams, works in collaboration and co-ordinates with business users, internal and external teams, and vendors to ensure project is succesfully completed within budget & scope, on time and with quality.  He/She provides regular progress update to key stakeholders and management, and escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner. He/She also participates in annual workplanning and manage the estimation of budget for new demands. 

He/she possess strong project management and people management skills. He/She is confident to lead the large project or multiple projects, and drives cross functional teams in a structured and methodological manner to meet the business objectives.  He/she likes to pursue excellence and new knowledge, and actively impact new knowledge and skills to others.  He/She has good communication skills, is a competent negotiator, demonstrates resiliency, good at problem solving and able to engage & influence effectively both the internal and external stakeholders.  He/She is adaptable to change in an agile and volatile environment while taking ownership and deliver works with integrity.  

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated project plan including detailed activities, resource planning, cost estimation per project.
  • Ensure accurate allocations of resources throughout the project, providing leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, composed of various levels of personnel, vendors, and clients to create and deploy successful projects.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives and deliverables.
  • Guide team to deliver plans aligned to overall project objectives.
  • Set expectations for periodic and milestone reviews including status reports, project risk identification and other dashboards.
  • Provide inputs and support to develop the project management framework, templates, tools and systems to deliver cost, time and quality metrics.
  • Drive project to meet schedules, budget, manpower and technical quality targets.
  • Conduct regular project reviews to recommend schedule changes, cost or resource adjustments.
  • Review complete IT infrastructure architecture, platform and roadmap, including high availability, disaster recovery and security.
  • Assess new infrastructure technologies and participate in proof of concept, to assist in defining technology direction, roadmap, framework and policies to meet strategic business initiatives.  
  • Identify potential threats and gain support for infrastructure architecture and overall technology strategies.
  • Ensure infrastructure architecture and designs support overall technology strategy.
  • Analyse and validate design with technical personnel / teams to ensure streamlined system implementation.
  • Review and analyze infrastructure and network architectural changes and upgrades and provide recommendations.
  • Work with key personnel and recommend IT investment strategy to support IT solution designs.
  • The infrastructure scope covers, but not limited to, all aspects of cloud, servers, hypervisors, containers, operating systems, databases, middleware, devops, security, support tools, network, SDN as well as related governance framework

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Engineering / Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a similar role
  • PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification - certification should be active. 
  • Experience in managing complex IT infrastructure projects (covering at least 3 domains - Network, Systems related, System migration and contract value of above S$10m before)
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in administering and maintaining infrastructure domain areas such as Operating Systems (e.g., VMware, Red Hat, Windows Server), Networking (e.g., SDN, Cisco), Security (e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, F5), Automation (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Terraform), etc.
  • Possess good knowledge of networks and networking concepts
  • Possess good knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Certifications in the above areas would be advantageous
  • Able to analyse and understand complex technical systems built from many separate software and hardware components, specifically web application architectures
  • Possess good knowledge on private, hybrid and public cloud environment and technologies which includes VMware vRealize Cloud automation, AWS, Azure and OpenShift
  • Track record of on-time, on-budget and to-specification delivery with the ability to manage end-to-end delivery of solutions.
  • Able to prioritise assignments whilst working on multiple concurrent projects
  • Good security, audit and compliance knowledge
  • Strong passion and desire to learn new technologies
  • Possess initiative and able to work independently
  • Is meticulous and attentive to details
  • A team player with Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively influencing various internal and external stakeholders
  • 2 years direct contract
