Position Overview
The Senior Solutions Architect designs and develops integrated information technology architecture solutions for internal and/or external clients. This role identifies current architecture problems, future technological goals and provides expert advice on solutions. This role will also serves as a technical expert on solutions design, development and implementation requirements to address business needs. The successful applicant will be recognised as among the most experienced and knowledgeable resources within the field in the organisation. This role must be able to collaborate with delivery and operations on architecture solutions design. This role also covers integrating diverse needs and perspectives from internal and external clients and possesses a creative mind to develop new and fresh ideas and solutions.
This role requires strong leadership and communication abilities and is able to influence key stakeholders and clients.
Role & Responsibilities
Understanding and analysing stakeholder requirements
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to understand their business issues, needs and goals as well as clinical workflows to determine requirements and define the scope of a project.
Developing the compelling business case
- Adopt an analytical approach in developing innovative solutions to align with the enterprise architecture and fulfil the business requirements.
- Recommend adoption of new technologies and applications to initiate enhanced solutions.
- Analyse the impact of a solution on the overall organisation and business processes and systems to mitigate business risks.
Designing solutions architecture
- Lead the technical solution design and creation of architecture blueprints. Perform systems modelling, simulation, and analysis to ensure the soundness of the solution.
- Review prototypes, solution blueprints, and project scope to ensure that stakeholders’ needs are being met. Support the analysis of the functionality and constraints of recommended solutions, and the impact and changes required across multiple systems, platforms and applications. Support risk identification and development of risk mitigation strategies associated with the end-to-end solution.
- Foster continuous improvement by looking for ways to improve the design processes, models and approach.
Guiding solution implementation
- Work closely with the project teams to guide the solution during implementation.
- Drive compatibility, interoperability, stability and usability of recommended solution architecture. Provide the approach for testing non-functional requirements. Resolve technical integration issues.
- Develop technical roadmaps for continual modernization and risk management.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics.
- Minimum 7 years as an architect, and at least 15 years of experience in implementing IT systems.
- Demonstrable knowledge of web-based architectures, integration methods and strategies to support non-functional requirements such as resilience and performance.
- Skills and experience in health IT systems, HL7 and FHIR would be valuable, but not a must.
- For Digital Services architect, you will be building close relationships and providing technical leadership on the commercial clouds such as AWS to the project teams including architects and engineers from in-house engineering teams.
- Communicate cloud platform products and services effectively to stakeholders and other architects to ensure a secure and scalable approach is realised.
- Experience in micro-services, DevOps tools and methodologies, containers technology such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, server-less architecture, and implementation in commercial cloud is highly preferred.
