Position Overview

The Next Generation Electronic Medical Record (NGEMR) is one of the three major healthcare programmes that Singapore has embarked on to transform care delivery in Singapore. It is an advanced centralised electronic medical record system that provides a single patient record across institutions of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and the National University Health System (NUHS) to enhance care management and delivery.

Through NGEMR, the entire patient journey across different care settings is recorded, enabling patient-centric care and seamless care transition. NGEMR also supports clinical decision with its intelligent alerts and data analytical capabilities. The aggregation of data translates to insights for medical education, research and population management to achieve better health outcomes.

Successful applicants will take part in the NGEMR Medical Device Integration track. They will become the principal point of contact for the solution towards the users.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide on-going application support and be involved in various stages of the SDLC.
  • Conduct user requirement analysis for the development / implementation of new systems and for enhancements to existing systems.
  • Evaluate potential solutions and make recommendations to resolve business problems.
  • Involvement in the system integration testing phase prior to implementation.
  • Plan and coordinate end-user training for any system implementations or enhancements.
  • Liaise closely with business users and build good rapport.
  • Liaise closely with vendors in project implementation, application testing, supporting application patches and upgrades in accordance with project methodologies and policies.
  • Support the team in defining project requirements, tracking and documentation.
  • Provide 24/7 primary application maintenance standby support.

Applicants will be required to complete the system specific administrator training, upon successful completion, they will be expected to:

  • Provide an overview of the currently installed solution
  • Understand the requirements and models
  • Assemble and install hardware
  • Assemble and configure vendor Cables, DIM
  • Administer the related applications
  • Interface with network medical devices/gateways
  • Extend the configuration to additional medical devices
  • Configure the Data Management Modules
  • Oversee ADT/EMR interfaces
  • Provide 1st/2nd level of troubleshooting to the solution
  • Install and push updates to maintain and upgrade the solution
     

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in engineering or information technology or informatics 
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and preferably with clinical or healthcare informatics experience.
  • Cross-platform experience and the expertise to identify and resolve integration/application issues. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers at a technical and business level.
