Position Overview
This position reports to the CIO Office and is responsible for the KTLO/BAU (Keep the Light On/ Business as Usual) operational maintenance of clinical systems and applications. This includes troubleshooting, maintenance, and software optimization. The role requires collaboration with business users, system owners, and vendors to provide recommendations and solutions to incidents, requests, or complex problems. Additionally, this role involves evaluating medical/clinical vendor devices and solutions, selecting suitable systems for the organization, and transitioning projects from implementation to operational maintenance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot medical device, clinical systems and application events, incidents and problems before escalating to Vendor for support.
- Project co-ordination for clinical application system and software updates or tech-refresh when required.
- Verify technology and security services and compliance against Healthtech Instruction Manual policies.
- Conduct regular reviews such as user access rights review, audit log reviews, vulnerability report review etc.
- Support management in responding effectively to internal and external audits.
- Create and update standard operating procedures, work instructions, etc.
- Keep abreast of new industry trends and best practices relating to clinical systems and medical devices.
- Manage multiple clinical systems and projects across the hospital, with some involvement in other hospital systems as part of the wider NHG CIO Office team.
- Researching with potential development / proof of concept on new technologies or services to introduce into existing systems or to solve existing business problems.
- Assisting the Reporting Officer as a delegate when required in the various business forums for projects and governance.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Industrial and System Engineer/ Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
- Project Management and/or ITIL Service Management or Foundations certification would be advantageous but not mandatory.
- At least 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in system operation support
- Good problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Good coordination skills within the team, department and across departments.
- Candidates should have strong analytical and able to work independently.
- Proactive and consistently show initiative and solution oriented.
- Some business acumen with the ability to perform financial cost benefit analysis.
