The NUHS Meal Ordering System (eMOS) is a harmonized meal ordering system implemented across various Public Healthcare institutions, including National University Hospital (NUH) and Alexandra Hospital (AH).
Objectives of the NUHS Meal Ordering System (eMOS) include but not limited to:
- Enhanced Patient Experience: The unified system ensures consistent processes across institutions, allowing patients who are transferred between hospitals to encounter a familiar meal ordering process. This familiarity can potentially improve their comfort and satisfaction during their stay.
- Cost Efficiency: The consolidation of systems results in a reduction of system maintenance costs, leading to more efficient resource utilization.
- Data Consolidation: A single system facilitates easier collection and analysis of data across all institutions. This can lead to improved decision-making and better resource allocation.
- Simplified Training: Staff from any NUHS institution can be easily trained on one shared system, which aids in cross-institution deployment when necessary.
From this internship, you will learn and participate in:
- AWS System Architecture: Understand how the backend systems are set up and how applications interface with other upstream systems to retrieve information and display it on devices in a real-world environment.
- Project Management: Gain experience in the execution, monitoring, control, and closing stages of projects, including Systems Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), hardware deployment, Go-Live, and Post Go-Live activities.
- Project Activity Support: You may be required to assist in the setup and testing of hardware/devices such as printers, iPads, barcode scanners, TVs, etc.
- Hands-On Experience: Participate in the resource planning, development, and implementation of various IT systems.
Exposure to the System Development Life Cycle:
- Support the project implementation for the meal ordering system.
- Assist the project team in coordinating with users and vendors.
- Maintain documentation on system specifications, processes, and updates.
- Support the deployment of the new system.
- Assist in logging and tracking bugs or issues in the testing environment.
