The National Billing System (NBS) is a key initiative in Singapore's public healthcare sector aimed at transforming care delivery. It will establish a unified charging and billing system across over 60 public healthcare institutions, ensuring a consistent experience for both patients and healthcare professionals. Patients will benefit from a clear and transparent view of costs and subsidies, while healthcare clusters will experience streamlined billing processes and electronic inter-cluster billing, enhancing efficiency.
Additionally, NBS will facilitate the swift implementation of new or revised government policies across healthcare institutions in Singapore.
The selected intern will assist in the following areas:
- Support the rollout of the new national billing system to various public healthcare institutions
- Participate in functional and user requirements gathering analysis and translate into technical specifications for business requirements with hospital teams
- Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT) across staging environments to validate core functionalities, identify bugs, and design additional edge-case scenarios not covered in test scripts
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and technical documentation work, including reviewing and editing user manuals, test reports, and system process flowcharts
- Collaborate on deployment planning by conducting site visits to assess visitor flow and determine the optimal hardware placement and network integration points
- Gain exposure to the Brim solution technology used in the healthcare industry and provide go-live support
- Prepare for pre-deployment activities, including Full Dress Rehearsal and Cutover
- Collaborate with the Project Team to understand system issues and provide statistics for management reporting during the project go-live
- Work closely with vendors to track and resolve production tickets, ensuring solutions are provided before testing by end users
- Gain insights into project management within healthcare projects and collaborate across departments to deliver the project
- Engage in stakeholder communication throughout the deployment stage

About you:
- Be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information Systems or related field
- Graduating in May/Dec 2026 or May 2027
- Strong analytical skillset
- Good team player with strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
