As part of the ongoing efforts in the development and redevelopment of NUP Polyclinic facilities, the demand for hands-on coordination and support in IT setup, system integration, and project management has increased significantly. To enhance our project implementation and operational readiness, we are looking for an intern to join us in this exciting phase of key project streams such as the Tengah polyclinic, which is going live in January 2026.
The selected interns will participate but not limited to the following:
1. Assist and Coordinate IT Setup and Testing for New Polyclinic Clinics with Core Functional Team
- Planning and Preparation: Assist in planning and preparing the team for the setup of IT systems and infrastructure, including end-user devices, networks, and peripherals. This includes understanding the specific needs of each clinic and ensuring that all necessary equipment is procured and configured.
- Testing and Validation: Support the testing and validation of clinical systems and applications to ensure readiness prior to commissioning. This involves creating test cases, executing system integration tests, user acceptance testing and documenting results to ensure that all systems function as intended.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams to troubleshoot issues and track resolution progress. This includes maintaining communication logs and ensuring that all parties are informed of the status of any issues that arise.
2. Planning and Coordination of IT Ground Support for Go-Live
- Development of Support Plans: Assist in developing detailed plans for ground IT support during go-live periods, including role assignments, issue escalation workflows, and support shift schedules. This ensures that all team members know their responsibilities and can respond quickly to any issues.
- Real-Time Coordination: Serve as a point-of-contact for real-time coordination between technical teams and operational users during go-live. This role is crucial for ensuring that any technical issues are addressed promptly and that operational staff have the support they need.
3. Project Management Support for NHIPS/NBS Implementation in Polyclinics
- Project Management Assistance: Provide project management assistance, including minute-taking, milestone tracking, and preparation of progress reports for the implementation of our national programmes such as National Billing Systems (NBS). This helps keep the project on track and ensures that all stakeholders are informed of progress.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support stakeholder engagement sessions, documentation of user requirements, and coordination of system readiness activities. This involves gathering feedback from users and ensuring that their needs are met in the system design.
4. Additional Responsibilities
- Documentation: Assist in maintaining comprehensive documentation of all processes, decisions, and changes made during the project. This is essential for future reference and for ensuring continuity in project management.
- Training Support: Help in the development and delivery of training materials for end-users to ensure they are comfortable with the new systems and processes.
- Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from users post-implementation to identify areas for improvement and ensure that the systems are meeting their needs effectively.
This role will allow the intern to gain valuable experience in IT project management and system integration while contributing to a significant healthcare initiative.
