Title: Development of a Medical Event Foundation Model for Healthcare Applications

 

Longitudinal patient journeys can be represented as sequences of medical events. The aim of this project is to develop transformed-based foundation models with multi task generalizable predictive capabilities for the Singapore healthcare system. This project will provide the opportunity to levearage state-of-the-art techniques in sequence data processing and engage with multiple stakeholders in the public healthace space.

 

The selected intern will participate in, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Data cleaning
  • Data harmonisation
  • Data preprocessing
  • Continual model pre-training & fine-tuning
  • Model evalution on multiple healthcare-related tasks

 

About you:

  • Be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Graduating in Dec 2026 or May 2027
  • Proficiency in python programming language for data processing and model development is required
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (pytorch)
  • Familiarity with transformer architecture training and fine-tuning techniques
  • Familiarity with git and github repositories
  • Ability to document comprehensively and rigorously project materials, including literature articles, code, results, findings, and slides
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present results and findings
  • Independent, fast-learner, and self-driven
  • Good team player with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
