As a Software Engineering Intern at Synapxe, you will support the delivery of modern, secure and scalable software solutions that support Singapore’s national healthcare systems. You will work closely with Software Engineers, Software Quality Engineers, Systems Analysts and Product Owners to learn how real-world healthcare systems are designed, built, tested and operated at scale. This internship is designed to give you hands-on exposure to end-to-end software development, from understanding user needs through to deploying and supporting production systems.

The selected intern will participate in, but is not limited to, the following:

Requirements & Analysis

• Support discussions with team members and stakeholders to understand business needs and user requirements
• Assist in analysing requirements and translating them into basic technical designs or user flows
• Help clarify assumptions, constraints and dependencies in system requirements

Software Development

• Contribute to the development of backend services, APIs or application components
• Support implementation of program logic and new features following established engineering standards
• Apply basic software design and secure coding practices with guidance from senior engineers

Testing & Quality

• Participate in unit, integration and system testing activities
• Support defect investigation, bug fixing and test automation efforts
• Learn how quality, testability and reliability are built into production systems

Cloud, DevOps & Operations

• Gain exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes
• Support application deployment and configuration in cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)
• Assist in monitoring application performance, reliability and security

Continuous Improvement & Support

• Collect user or system feedback and assist in basic reporting or analysis
• Support enhancements to improve application functionality, usability and performance
• Assist in maintenance, updates and operational support of existing applications, including compliance with security measures

About you:

• Be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline
• Graduating in Dec 2026 or May 2027
• Equipped with strong knowledge of coding practices
• Good technical knowledge and experience in object-oriented programming, WPF, .Net 4.0 and above, C#, Java, Silverlight, SQL Server and / or ASP
• Possess strong analytical skill and able to work under tight timelines
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Awareness of Agile or Scrum development practices
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot)
• Innovative, proactive and a strong team player
• Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
