Project: Digital Forensics Lab Redesign and Next-Gen Cyber Incident Response Capabilities

 

Join our Digital Forensics and Incident Response team to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity investigations, forensic analysis, and security tool evaluation. You'll work with forensic technologies and contribute to the team's capability to detect, investigate, and respond to emerging cyber threats.

 

He/she will assist in deploying and configuring security tools within our forensic laboratory and help develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for these tools.

To gain practical experience and understand the value of forensic tools, he/she will apply various security tools and techniques in incident investigations and digital forensics, working with infected system images. He/she will document their investigative findings in comprehensive, well-structured reports, demonstrating their ability to conduct independent investigations, analyse complex data, and communicate technical information effectively.

 

The selected intern will participate in, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct hands-on testing of new software, documenting findings, and providing feedback to the security team on the tool's effectiveness and usability
  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of security tools within the forensic lab environment, and help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tool usage
  • Apply forensic tools and techniques to conduct incident investigations on infected system images, analyzing complex data to identify root causes and attack vectors
  • Participate in Incident Response investigations, including evidence collection and preservation (logs, network traffic, system images), malware analysis, and threat hunting activities
  • Document investigation processes and findings in well-structured technical reports, demonstrating analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
  • Gain exposure to industry-standard security tools and technologies including SIEM, EDR, and forensic analysis platfor ms

 

About you:

  • Be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field
  • Graduating in Dec 2026 or May 2027
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and the incident response lifecycle.
  • Basic understanding of digital forensic principles and investigation methodologies, such as the importance of collect and preserve digital evidence (e.g., logs, network traffic, system images).
  • Basic knowledge of software installation, configuration, and maintenance in a cybersecurity context.
  • Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Javascript will be useful.
  • Familiarity with Windows system processes, services, registry, events logs, as well as host-based and network traffic analysis would be advantageous.
  • Good team player with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
