Anomaly or outlier detection is a research area in Machine Learning with applications in multiple domains. We are developing machine learning and rule-based algorithms to detect potential anomalies in Finance datasets.

The objective of the internship is to:

• Support the operationalisation and testing of a rule-based anomaly detection model
• Develop and validate machine learning models for anomaly detection for a Finance use-case.

The candidate will work on some of the following tasks:

• Refinement and validation of rule-based model
• Deployment, testing, and optimization of model
• Exploratory data analysis to get acquainted with and gain preliminary insights from the data
• Data processing and cleaning to transform the data into suitable format for model development
• Exploration of multiple algorithms and rules to identify anomalies and evaluation of model performance
• Preparation of slide decks and presentation of results to stakeholders

Note: The scope of the project may change depending on company priorities. In addition, the student may be asked to contribute and support additional ongoing projects and duties on a demand basis.

Requirements:

• Be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related discipline
• Graduating in Dec 2025 or May/Dec 2026
• Proficient in python programming language
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub repositories is required
• Familiarity with anomaly detection and finance datasets is a plus
• Ability to work independently and adapt to a constantly evolving environment
• Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
