The objective of the project is to explore new search strategies with agentic frameworks, hybrid search, graph rag nested embeddings, multi vector search and identify key aspects from the exploration to build the different new components or existing approach for the search pipeline.
The selected intern will be involved, but not limited to the following:
Phase 1: Exploration on Retrieval Strategies
Retriever Strategy Evaluation: Implement and evaluate different retrieval strategies within the selected vector store.
This could include:
- Semantic search (hybrid/multi-stack/multi-modal)
- Graph search
- Index (HSNW, nested, etc.)
Phase 2: Exploration on Agentic Frameworks
- Comparisons on the various agentic mechanisms: group-chat, workflows, graph
- Development on the key aspects for search retrieval and answer generation on these frameworks and build the recipe for reusability
About you:
- Be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
- Graduating in Dec 2025 or May/Dec 2026
- Proficient in Python syntax, data structures, algorithms including familiarity with common python libraries, and ability to write clean, efficient, well-documented code
- Experience with relevant tools and framework like OpenAI API, LangChain/Llama-Index or open source language models
- Adept in using tools like VS Code for script development and Jupyter notebooks for exploratory analysis
- Knowledge of version control with Git is valuable.
- Familiarity with back-end development with some exposure to Flask/Fast API and concepts of Generative AI, i.e. Retrieval Augmented Generation will be an added advantage
- Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
