The aim of the project is to develop an image recognition model to identify different aspects of an object, for example, colour, texture and shape, which could be potentially used for disease and characteristics classification in tongue image recognition.

The intern(s) will learn data generation and data augmentation to facilitate model development and will learn and compare different algorithms and techniques in image recognition and segmentation. 

The intern(s) will also learn to communicate data science problems / insights in business language for potential stakeholders, and prepare the model for deployment to support practical solutions.

About you:

• Be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related field
• Graduating in Dec 2025 or May/Dec 2026
• Strong coding skills in Python programming language for image processing and model deployment
• Familiarity with Javascript, API integration, FastAPI, Spring Boot, git and GitHub repositories are desirable.
• Understand concepts related to image data augmentation and deep learning models
• Ability to work independently and adapt to constantly evolving environment
• Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
