Position Overview
NGEMR Data Conversion project involves migrating clinical data from legacy source systems into HL7-compliant formats for ingestion into NGEMR.
The candidate will play a key role in software development and supporting the Healthcare IT systems and other system integration initiatives, working closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to maintain and deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality software solutions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications and services using the .NET framework/.Net Core
- Develop and manage batch processing jobs to support data migration and transformation workflows
- Build and maintain system interfaces and integration solutions across multiple platforms and source systems
- Apply secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure applications meet security and compliance standards
- Design and implement secure API integrations with internal and external systems
- Perform data profiling and analysis to assess data quality, identify anomalies, and support data migration activities
- Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and data transformation scripts
- Deploy and manage applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS), leveraging cloud services for scalability and reliability
- Leverage AI-assisted coding tools and practices to improve development productivity, code quality, and secure code writing, ensuring that AI-generated code is reviewed, validated, and aligned with security and coding standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in software development using .NET (C# preferred)
- Hands-on experience in developing and managing batch jobs and scheduled processing workflows
- Strong knowledge of system interfacing and integration patterns, including HL7, REST, and SOAP
- Solid understanding of secure coding principles and best practices, with familiarity with common vulnerability frameworks such as OWASP
- Experience in designing and consuming secure APIs, including authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0 and API key management
- Proficiency in data profiling techniques and tools, with the ability to assess and document data quality findings
- Strong SQL Server skills, including database design, query optimization, and stored procedure development
- Working knowledge of AWS services such as ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS
- Experience or exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or similar coding assistants, with the ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and compliance with coding standards
- Experience in healthcare IT or familiarity with clinical data standards such as HL7 and FHIR will be an advantage
