Position Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Data Centre operations, capacity planning, and governance of data centre infrastructure across multiple sites, with a strong focus on rack space management, structured cabling, DCIM/DCFM systems, and vendor management. Ensuring data centre facilities operate efficiently, compliantly, and within required environmental and power thresholds, while coordinating maintenance, new deployments, infrastructure projects, and physical works with internal stakeholders and service providers.

The role also drives operational improvements, monitors power and capacity utilization, maintains accurate documentation and audit records, supports reporting and analysis, and ensures successful project delivery, change management, and operational readiness across all data centre environments.

Role & Responsibilities

Data Centre Rack, Cabling & DCFM Operations Management

  • Own end-to-end management of DC rack space, network cabling infrastructure, and DCFM operations across all sites within the CES portfolio, ensuring accurate as-built records and capacity tracking at all times.

Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM)

  • Support DCFM on all matters pertaining to Data Centre (DC) projects, including arranging and attending site surveys with vendors, suppliers and internal business/product stakeholders, and proposing feasible technical solutions to ensure DC requirements are addressed or met.
  • Monitor and optimize Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and overall power consumption within the data center, tracking server and rack efficiency against defined target power-consumption levels and reporting variances to management. 
    Provide working-level configuration, in support of new data center deployments and evolving data requirements, including coordination with the product vendor for application upgrades and patching.

Structured Cabling Management 

  • Knowledge of local structured cabling standards, together with working knowledge of Data Centre functional areas (MDA, HDA, EDA) and awareness of current data center industry trends, to guide cabling design decisions. 

Generation of monthly report and documentation

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering 
  • At least  2-3 years of relevant experience in facility / building management set up, preferably in data center environment
  • Strong working knowledge of best practices in fire and workspace safety, management, control, and day-to-day operation of a Data Centre hosting service.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Centre infrastructure systems, with hands-on experience on mission-critical systems such as UPS, Chiller, CRAC, Thermal/Fan Wall Cooling, Electrical HT/LT, Fire Protection, Water Detection, Fire Suppression, PDU, CCTV, and Card Access systems.
  • Good to have experience in Rack and Stack tasks, planning, analysis and forecasting under Data Centre Infrastructure Management
  • Working experience managing and supporting DCIM systems, specifically Struxureware Data Center Expert (DCE), Struxureware IT advisor ITA), in support of new data centre deployments and retrofits will be a plus 
  • Strong vendor and stakeholder management 
  • Good interpersonal and written skills
  • Open to support 24/7 standby (rotational between the team)
  • 2 years contract
