The interns will conduct comprehensive process mapping by shadowing Infrastructure Portfolio team members and documenting current RFP/RFQ workflows, identifying specific pain points and time-consuming manual tasks that contribute to extended procurement timelines. They will analyse existing procurement data and processes to identify patterns, bottlenecks, and repetitive activities that could benefit from automation.
Key deliverables include:
- Developing process improvement recommendations with detailed cost-benefit analysis and timeline reduction projections for each proposed automation solution
The selected intern will participate in, but is not limited to, the following:
- Design and test pilot automation tools using available AI platforms, focusing on solutions that can streamline vendor evaluation, automate document verification, and accelerate approval workflows.
- Gather feedback from IP team staff on prototype effectiveness and feasibility, then prepare comprehensive implementation roadmaps with phased approaches for successful automation deployment
- Regular progress presentations to stakeholders will demonstrate potential time savings and efficiency gains.
About you:
- Be pursuing a Diploma in Information Technology or a related IT discipline
- Graduating in May 2027
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts including supervised learning, natural language processing, and data classification techniques
- Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques for processing structured and unstructured procurement documents
- Understanding of process mapping methodologies and workflow documentation practices
- Exposure to automation platforms such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools, Microsoft Power Platform, or similar low-code solutions is advantageous
- Basic knowledge of database querying using SQL for data extraction and analysis
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools for presenting analytical findings and timeline comparisons
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for identifying process improvement opportunities and bottleneck analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with procurement staff and stakeholders.

- Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
