This role supports ongoing enhancement of Synapxe Central IT inventory repository. The selected intern will be involved in redesigning the data management processes and establishing the necessary data models. Additionally, he/she will define and implement enterprise-wide processes required to ensure the inventory's ongoing accuracy and completeness. This role will also involve collaborating with various functional teams to integrate disparate inventory sources and will secure buy-in for new data maintenance protocols. Their ultimate goal will be a single, trusted source of truth for all IT assets.

 

The selected intern will participate in, but is not limited to, the following two projects.

 

1. Central IT Inventory Repository
The role will support ongoing enhancement of Synapxe Central IT inventory repository. He / she will be designing the data management processes and establishing the necessary data models. Furthermore, he / she will define and will be implementing the enterprise-wide processes required to ensure the inventory's ongoing correctness and completeness. This work will involve collaboration with various teams to integrate disparate inventory sources and will secure buy-in for new data maintenance protocols. The ultimate goal will be a single, trusted source of truth for all IT assets.
 
2. Enterprise-Wide Technology Obsolescence Management
He/she will develop and will be standardizing the enterprise-wide processes for managing technology obsolescence. He/she will be establishing clear policies and procedures that teams will use to identify, track, and mitigate risks associated with outdated hardware and software. This function will necessitate the creation of forward-looking reporting mechanisms and will require regular communication with business unit leaders to plan necessary upgrades and replacements. The result will be a more secure, stable, and cost-effective technology landscape.
 
The selected candidate will play a central role in transforming how we manage our systems by driving efficiency and providing the data necessary for strategic decision-making.
 
Specifically, he/she will:
  • Define business requirements and user stories, ensuring project deliverables are met and accurately documented to maximize value and future scalability.
  • Conduct impact and risk analysis for new functionality, enhancements, and change requests to proactively influence development priorities and resource allocation.
  • Take ownership of issue resolution, managing and tracking critical items to ensure minimal disruption and accelerated feature delivery.
  • Design and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT), using business workflows and user scenarios to validate readiness and assure quality before deployment.
  • Develop and deliver targeted change management and training programs to ensure successful adoption and utilization of new capabilities, driving maximum operational efficiency for end-users.

 

About you:

  • Be pursuing a Diploma in Business Management, Information Technology or related field
  • Graduating in May 2027
  • Data Visualization Tools: Proficiency with Power BI or similar tools (e.g., Tableau) - Essential for developing the dashboards and KPI reporting mentioned in the project overview.
  • Advanced Productivity Tools: Demonstrated ability to use advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, XLOOKUP, conditional formatting) and exposure to Power Automate or other automation logic - Necessary for process automation support and building robust data governance models.
  • Business Analysis & QA Fundamentals: Basic understanding of the project lifecycle, including gathering requirements and experience with structured testing (UAT/SIT) - Required to effectively manage project deliverables, documentation, and testing support.
  • Structured Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical/process issues into clear, concise updates for non-technical stakeholders and leadership - crucial for cross-functional collaboration and reporting in leadership forums.
  • Organisational ability: Strong skills in prioritization, time management, and meticulous attention to detail required for tracking project deliverables, documentation, and managing issue logs - Essential for successful project management support and maintaining governance standards.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: A demonstrated initiative to identify process bottlenecks and suggest improvements before being asked - Aligns with the team's focus on process re-design and value-adding activities.
  • Good team player with strong analytical and communication skills
