The National Billing System (NBS) is one of the three major programmes that the Singapore public healthcare sector has embarked on to transform care delivery.
 
NBS will deliver a national charging and billing system that provides a consistent experience for patients and healthcare professionals across more than 60 public healthcare institutions. Patients will benefit from an intuitive and transparent view of costs and subsidies, while healthcare clusters will enjoy streamlined billing processes and electronic inter-cluster billing, saving time and effort. NBS will also enable quicker and easier implementation of the new or revised government policies across healthcare institutions in Singapore.
 
Singapore’s healthcare system is evolving to meet current and future needs of its citizens, and to handle potential challenges. As part of the national effort, Synapxe is leading the National Billing Transformation project which comes under the Health IT master plan and will eventually be one of the central piece for Singapore’s healthcare system. The massive scope of work that the National billing transformation project handles will provide a very good learning platform for the intern.
 
Interns will be able to learn both soft skills and hard skills through their internship period. They are able to acquire basic knowledge on SAP BRIM solutioning which is highly sought after.
 

The selected intern will participate in, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Support the roll out of new national billing system to various Public Healthcare institutions
  • Gain exposure to the new technology (Brim solutioning) deployed in Healthcare industry and provide go-live support
  • Prepare for pre-deployment activities for go-live, such as Full Dress Rehearsal, Cutover
  • Understand the issues of the new system and work closely with Project Team to provide statistic for management reporting during project go-live
  • Work with vendors closely to track and fix the production tickets. This includes working with vendor to provide a resolution before releasing it to end users for testing.
  • Gain insights to project management in healthcare projects and ability to work with cross departments within the company to deliver the project
  • Engage with stakeholder communication throughout deployment stage

 

System changes are National wide and hence this role provides unparalleled exposure to the Singapore healthcare landscape.

 

About you:

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
  • Graduating in May 2027
  • Possess business analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of how system operations support team do
  • Basic understanding of change governance and processes used in IT operations
  • ITSM tools experience will be a plus point
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel functions for reporting
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech

 

Interns will be expected to travel to other Public Healthcare Instutitions (PHIs).
