Uni Internship Jan to July 2027 - Cybersecurity, AI Threat Intelligence & Hunting

Date: 3 Jul 2026

Location: SG

Company: Synapxe

Join Synapxe as an intern and see how you can contribute in powering a healthier Singapore. Internship@Synapxe is where curiosity meets impact! You would be able to gain practical experience, hone your skills, and be part of meaningful work that improves health through technology!

This internship focuses on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to enhance cybersecurity operations and make threat detection more proactive and efficient. We are looking for intern(s) to join our team to develop intelligent systems that analyze large volumes of external threat intelligence sources, such as security reports, advisories, and blogs, and transform them into actionable threat-hunting procedures.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in applying AI techniques to real-world cybersecurity challenges, including understanding cyber threat landscapes, analyzing attacker behaviors, and supporting the development of automated detection and response workflows. You will also be exposed to tools and processes used in a Security Operations Centre (SOC), contributing to initiatives that strengthen organizational security posture and resilience.

The selected intern(s) will assist in following:

  • Develop and support automation pipelines to extract and synthesize external threat intelligence into actionable threat-hunting hypotheses and procedures
  • Analyze cyber threats and campaigns, including identifying indicators of compromise (IOCs), attack patterns, and threat characteristics
  • Enrich threat-hunting workflows with contextual intelligence on threat actors and their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
  • Explore and evaluate AI/LLM capabilities, including testing, validating, and improving model outputs for cybersecurity use cases
  • Support the implementation of automated workflows within security platforms (e.g. SIEM) to operationalize threat detection and hunting processes
  • Assist in threat hunting and incident investigation activities, contributing to analysis and response efforts
  • Conduct research and proof-of-concept work on emerging cyber threats and defence techniques
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing, including developing runbooks, reports, and reference materials

About You:

  • Undergraduate currently in Year 2 or Year 3, pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related discipline
  • Software Engineering: Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript) and basic coding principles
  • Cybersecurity: Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and network fundamentals; exposure to areas such as system internals, SIEM, threat intelligence, or threat hunting is an advantage
  • Automation & AI: Familiarity with AI tools and their limitations; exposure to automation, orchestration tools, or Large Language Models (LLMs) is a plus
  • Independent, fast-learner, and self-driven
  • Good team player with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
