The selected intern will join the infrastructure team, this is embedded within Synapxe’s corporate digitalisation initiatives, contributing to the modernisation of internal operations through applied technology solutions. The role offers exposure to cross-functional collaboration and hands-on experience with enterprise IT tools, focusing on improving document workflows, communication platforms, intranet architecture, and digital content management. You will get exposure to a range of tools across Microsoft 365, data analytics, content development, and project management to support digital workplace initiatives.
The selected intern(s) will assist in the following:
1) Enterprise Document Management (EDM)
- Support the implementation of structured taxonomy frameworks for digital document repositories using SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
- Develop and enhance automated workflows using Power Automate to support approval processes, version control, and document lifecycle management.
- Apply metadata tagging, permissions management, and access controls to improve document governance and regulatory compliance.
2) Data Analytics & Cost Management
- Build and maintain financial models using advanced Excel functions (e.g., INDEX, MATCH, XLOOKUP, IFERROR, pivot tables).
- Design dashboards for cost tracking, variance analysis, and budget forecasting, aligned with defined project KPIs.
- Support cost-benefit analyses of digital tools and intranet features to aid ROI evaluation and decision-making.
3) Content Development & Knowledge Systems
- Assist in executing content strategies for internal knowledge hubs, including basic HTML/CSS customisation within SharePoint Modern UI or equivalent CMS platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain content governance, ensuring version consistency and alignment with corporate communication standards.
4) Intranet Architecture & UX Optimisation
- Support information architecture planning for internal intranet portals, including navigation, page layout, and component structuring.
- Conduct usability testing and analyse user feedback to recommend UX/UI improvements across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Leverage tools such as Microsoft Forms, Power BI, or WorkVivo analytics to track engagement and adoption metrics.
5) Project Coordination & Technical Reporting
- Maintain project tracking tools using SharePoint Lists, Excel (e.g., Gantt charts), or Power BI dashboards to monitor milestones, dependencies, and risks.
- Prepare technical documentation and executive reports, including deployment updates, analytics summaries, and stakeholder presentations.
6) Platform Integration & Workflow Optimisation
- Support integration efforts across enterprise tools such as WorkVivo, Microsoft Teams, and Yammer to streamline internal communications.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows by mapping business processes and recommending automation or digital enhancements.
About You:
- Undergraduate currently in Year 2 or Year 3, pursuing a degree in Business Artificial Intelligence Systems, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Engineering & Media, Industrial & Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
- Keen interest in digital workplace technologies, process automation, data analytics, and project management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate) is an advantage
- Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting, with exposure to Excel functions, dashboards, or Power BI being a plus
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SharePoint, or intranet platforms is advantageous
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or web content management concepts is beneficial
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present information clearly
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn new technologies
- Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
