The healthcare landscape is increasingly shifting towards personalized approaches to improve outcomes and optimize resources. Understanding the diverse needs of a population is key to designing interventions that are both effective and efficient. This project focuses on population segmentation, a technique that categorizes individuals into meaningful groups based on clinical and lifestyle data. By leveraging machine learning, statistical learning, or deep learning techniques, we aim to uncover patterns and subgroups within the population. These insights will inform targeted health interventions, improving care delivery and outcomes. This project provides an opportunity for the candidate to contribute to innovative, data-driven solutions in healthcare.

The intern will engage in the following areas of work:

  • Data Collection and Preprocessing: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather relevant clinical and lifestyle datasets. Clean, preprocess, and analyze the data to ensure readiness for modeling.
  • Algorithm Development: Use machine learning, statistical learning, or deep learning techniques to identify meaningful population segments. Compare different methodologies to determine the most effective approach.
  • Insights Generation: Analyze the characteristics of each segment to understand their unique health needs and risk profiles.
  • Visualization and Reporting: Create visual and written reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Implementation Support: Provide recommendations for integrating segmentation insights into practical health interventions.
